We are just waiting for more news to pop-up. I hope we get a Splatoon demo soon, so the activity can really grow here.

But it would almost need to be online compatible to show off the main features of the game, unless they only allow the Hero Mode as the demo. Either way though. Speaking of demos, I really wish Nintendo would release E3 demos to people at home. The demo could be used and played as much as we wanted until the end of E3. That way people who cannot get to a Best Buy or E3 could get the same or similar experience.

A lack of new information to discuss. We're desperate for anything at this point. We'd love to post new videos, but there just aren't any. Even the once reliable Dev Twitter is slim pickings these days. The January Direct spoiled us. All the information from it has since gone dry. Despite the apparently decent size member base at first glance a rather noticeable fraction don't have any posts at all (122) That's about 54%. I'm sure it will pick up in the coming months.

Okay, so my question didn't literally need answered. It was just a way to open up the thread. The hype for a game is one of the most fascinating and fun times before a game releases. That is what this thread is for. Not necessarily now, but over time.

I would love to talk about Splatoon all the time, but there is not much to be talked about at the moment besides predictions.
I actually have a prediction on a demo for Splatoon though. Code name STEAM is releasing on the 3ds March 20, the demo released late January. That is about a two month gap between the demo release and the game release. We know splatoon is coming in May, so I believe we will see a demo sometime in the middle of March!

There will most definitely be a demo for this title too, since S.T.E.A.M. got a demo and Iwata has stated more demos will be released. I sure hope the demo releases in March, but I dunno. I think late March personally. If we get a Splatoon Demo, I hope it kinda works like Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. But that is just personal opinion.

The Rapture said a new improved version of the forums is coming soon and this one will just be left behind so I think that has something to do with it.
Theres not a lot of news outside of the tumble updates either, which usually aren't much. I agree I'd love to have more discussion on the game though! I'm so hyped for it.

Again the question I asked was not meant to be answered. It was just a way to start the topic. Anyway, let's start off a discussion! Let's say a demo is released in a week. If there were three features you would like added, what would you want?

That coolness feature that's always brought up in splatoon's tumblr posts confuses me a bit. I think it's a leveling system but I can't grasp it completely from the small amount of info they've given.
I just use demos to get used to the controls and start developing a play style. That said, I'd also like to be able to check out the stages.

Well, I think that Splatoon should have one last big mode aside of the online Multiplayer and the single player Hero mode. Let's basically combine them into one! I think we should have a 4 player co-op survival mode! I'm Thinking kind of like MW3's survival mode.
Also, I think it would be really cool to see a built-in capture mode in the game where you can record your gameplay and post it to Miiverse or YouTube, kind of like Mario Kart 8's MKTV. In fact, that party-looking room on the second floor under the billboard looks like where that would go!
Another addition, (This one is completely optional and the the player.) I would LOVE to see two game pads allowed to work in Splatoon allowing two players to go online and have their own map at their fingertips.
And since I have forth idea, all amiibo will be compatible with the game and give us costumes of the character you scan in. And if a Splatoon amiibo comes out, it gives us data for additional campaign levels to play and on multiplayer, it writes data and will save your opponents play style and then you can battle your amiibo in the 1 vs. 1 mode and it will play like one of the past opponents!

But really I think the coolness thing is just a creative way of saying, "You aren't at a high enough rank to buy this."

The developers have said is that this game will be supported post-release. I believe the best possible outcome would be if this game became like Plants Vs. Zombies: Gardan Warfare. All Free DLC, including new weapons, modes, and etc. Just imagine. Almost all the negatives would go away!

Or, you can post some amazing fan-art! In the end, come here to talk about anything! Think of this as the Social thread from SamshBoards, but more hype-focused. Let's get people to join this site and establish an amazing community! Well, remember that the game isn't even out yet. And we really don't have a huge wealth of information available to the public yet, either. The point of starting Squidboards so early before release (almost a year before, and thus in BETA) is for the small numbers that want to come on every now and again to discuss what little information we have, as well as fostering the building blocks of a community from individual to individual. We've already gotten a tight little core group of posters here, which is nice to see. It's a bit unreasonable to expect the forum to be constantly active to a high degree at this point in the game's development. It's not a new IP either, so this is really a new experience for pretty much everybody here. There's very little to draw from right now. A lot of members seem to sign up on a whim or to have an account for later. That's okay. I enjoy the small amount of active members we have, which will only grow as we get closer to release and then when the game is actually out. Still, instead of threads like these, let's make the threads that are already active even more so by posting in them. If it's a new topic of interest, then of course a new thread suffices, but this thread isn't touching on anything new here. For that reason, this kind of thread would usually be locked. But since we have, again, a small number of active members and, so far, no issues in the community in terms of posting, spam, threads like these, moderation, etc., I'll leave it open. I do suggest, however, that if you want to make Squidboards a better place you should be contributing something other than a thread like this.
