A scope? You mean some sort of zoom feature? Well we already know one of the Ink Rifles has one. Well cosmetically anyway. Not sure if you'll actually be able to use it or if it will have a maxed out range stat, but horrendous mobility and charge stats to balance it out. I'm thrilled that in general all the weapons are pretty well balanced within their own categories at least on paper anyway.
The 5.2 Gallon, Splashooter, and Ink Gun are prefect examples of this. The Splashshooter is average in all areas, the 5.2 Gallon has a lower rate of fire with lots of ink per shot while the Ink Gun has a higher rate of fire with comparably little ink per shot. From there it comes down to your own preference. I wonder if those are the only ones in that category. Hopefully not.

Yeah I know about the scope, but I was more or less referring to if it will actually serve a purpose besides it referencing larger range. It would be fun to use anyway.
I wonder how many weapons per class there will be, since there is about 2-3 per class right now. I hope we get up to four at least. But then, balancing could get interesting. I got a feeling there will be three per classe, one with larger range (or more ink) and the other side being slower and clunkier.

Considering we need to get muy cool to get the better stuff, I wonder how many "levels" there will be for the weapons (and other stuff, I guess). How long would it take to get the really ace stuff?
On another note, the main NeoGAF thread about this game is arguing about if comparing Splatoon to the cartoon show "The Kids Next Door" is making the game "less hype", so I think we're doing alright here

I'd get very annoyed very quickly if I had to play for extended periods, splatoon seems like the type of game I'd play in sessions under an hour.

I'm reminded of the Marge Simpson quote: "Well, how the hell DO you be cool? I feel like I've tried everything!"
It could be of a similar growth rate to the new VR mechanics in MK8, though given that coolness affects your gameplay experience more than VR does, I imagine it'd be faster.

Yeah I read that little piece of analysis from you after I posted that. Very intriguing... So I guess it is safe to assume that there will be at least 6 weapons per class, if not more, which is great.
