But we don't have the confirmation. How can we know for sure? It seems simple to us, but it may not be to the developers. There are groups in smash and mk8 which are Nintendo's two biggest online games, and seeing how splatoon seems to be online focused it would be incredibly odd if they didn't implement them. Still, I won't convince myself of anything without proof. I don't want to be disappointed. :x That's the thing, isn't it? We don't want to be disappointed by assuming too much. If there was on type of weapon that has been announced that you could add, what would it be and why? I think it would be interesting to see some type of rocket launcher weapon, which releases a large lobbed splatter of ink a certain distance. High range and damage, but extremely low mobility could be an example stat set.

I know this is kinda off topic, but I just had a cool idea... What if you are always the color that your inkling is? I mean, you perceive you and your team being the color you chose for your inkling, and every other person perceives themselves as being their own color? Then there could be a win percentage per color stat! I know, it's not really useful or anything, but I just thought it'd be a fun stat to see... Maybe some conspirators would switch over to the "winning colors" to see if it helped them.

This makes me wish there could be teams of two for some mode. a 2v2v2v2 would be interesting to say the least!

What types of modes would you guys like to see if a future update added another mode? Capture the Flag could get interesting if done correctly.

Definitely want to see more gametypes like Capture the Flag. I think Multi-Team (2v2v2v2) would be super fun and hectic, as would Free-for-All. As for modes, I really wanna see spectator, replay, tournament, and clan modes. More multiplayer and social options, the better.

Well there's no reason to dedicate a mode just to a Death or in the case Splatter Match. Instead they could simply use the Smash Brothers method by making it a different rule set in the same vein as Stock and Time. When you play Turf Wars, splatters are still being tracked so all you'd have to do is switch the win condition in some sort of custom game settings menu to Splatter Match.
Thing is the games main mode and focus is and will always be Turf Wars. So if it is in the game and I don't see any reason why it shouldn't be, players will likely not be able to use it or any other alternative game mode to farm gold or experience as effectively or possibly even at all. Once a player has gotten their inking to max level and purchased all store items it will make for a welcome alternative option when the competitive nature of the game itself is the only remaining replay motivation.

If some form of multi team game mode were to be added, do u think it will use the same maps as the normal 4 vs 4 or will they have completely seperate stages? The demo stage back at E3 doesn't really look fit for a 4 team game of turf war.

Didn't they say they were only doing 4v4 turf wars so that people don't have to wait in lobbies?

Okay let me try to explain what he's talking about. Right now, Turf Wars involves two teams each consisting of four inklings for a total of eight players on a map. Phil is interested in an expansion of that. He specifically mentions a four team game which assuming the actual member size is consistent means sixteen players on the map. He asking if we think the maps we've seen so far would work for that many players if such a mode were to be available.
I'd say no, you'd need much larger stages to accommodate that many players on a single map comfortably. It doesn't necessarily have to be twice the size, but at least 70-80% larger in all dimensions. Hell, not just more surface area, they'd have to be more complex design wise as well. Sadly though I can't see Splatoon going beyond the max of 4 vs 4, but it's certainly nice to wonder.

I thought he meant 2v2v2v2, meaning 8 players. That could work on some maps, but I think it'd be better to have maps designed for it. Although I also don't think they'll add anything other than 4v4, I hope I'm wrong.

If the sales are very good and people play it for months regularly, I woudln't be surprised if something was added in the game.

Didn't they say they were only doing 4v4 turf wars so that people don't have to wait in lobbies? I do remember them saying that they will have it so that games won't start until there are two full teams of 4, but I don't recall them ever saying that they picked 4v4 solely because people don't have to wait in lobbies. Team size isn't necessarily tied to that - they could have made the game 3v3 so it would be quicker to get matches together. I think they made it 4v4 by design and then decided that 4v4 lobbies will only start when 8 players are available. Which, of course, is how it should be. Like it should be a given, so it's kinda funny that they even clarified that. Otherwise, would they start with less than 8 players or with uneven teams? I thought he meant 2v2v2v2, meaning 8 players. That could work on some maps, but I think it'd be better to have maps designed for it. Although I also don't think they'll add anything other than 4v4, I hope I'm wrong. The current maps have two spawns, these maps would likely have to have four, so probably new maps suited for 2v2v2v2v2 yeah.

You know, I was thinking about the super jump. To me, that is the obvious reason why there isn't online multiplayer (with two or three people from a single system) That makes me think: Why don't they put the super jump jumps on the d-pad? left would be jump to player 1, up jump to player 2, right jump to player 3, and down jump to spawn. This would make it much quicker than looking down at a touch screen. This would also allow one person to play on gamepad and the other on the tv potentially. Now, you may be thinking about the gamepad map. However, this will not be needed as much since we can chat over skype or something. What are your guys' thoughts? Personally, I hope the developers take this action to replace the signaling system. I mean, they already had a d-pad hud on screen.

All they would have to do is put a small, semi-transparent map somewhere on the screen and, as you said, map jumps to the d-pad. Pretty simple stuff I hope they don't miss out on.
