chosen one
i have a really good game mode idea that i got inspiration from a game we play at the physical education at school thats called harry potter, two teams, one chosen one in every team. and everyone throw balls at each other. if someone dies the chosen one can revive them by touching him/her, and the fun thing is.. the other team dont know who your teams chosen one is, except if they spot the chosen one reviving someone or if they have seen a person dead and later see them alive they know that he/she isnt the chosen one , the game ends when everyone in a team is dead. if your chosen one dies you can still win but its harder because if you die you won't be revived.
so think about it in splatoon, the games will be pretty short because its 4vs4, but i think it would be amazing. i still dont know if the chosen one should be able to turn into squidform because its very hard to kill him/her if they just stay still in squidform in his/her ink , but thats pretty much it

Here are some of my suggestions for rules. 1. The special person cannot super jump. 2. In order for the special person to revive a teammate, they must be next to them, and revive them for 3 seconds straight. 3. Paint on the ground still tallies up per round and will add to the final score. 4.The special person switches roundly, as I think this could be a first to four round wins.

I thought of a spin off variant of Turf War, hopefully this one will be more appealing.
Filled Area Turf War
The rules of This are exactly the same as the regular Turf War, but this time, if you make a complete perimeter (outline) of a shape, the area (inside) will automatically fill in with your teams ink! For example, if I ink a circle with no missing border spots, the inside of the circle will fill in with my teams ink! This would make Turf War even more chaotic and fast paced.
however, I know this may lead to some problems, like the sprinkler may just be an easy way for people to get a big circle, so, the sprinkler is either banned or just it doesn't get the filled area bonus.
Also the paint roller could have some sort of adjustment to it so you can't just run in a circle to get the fill in bonus.
What at are your thoughts on this?

Well, according to that new famitzu article, multiplayer will only be 4 VS. 4 humans. Could this mean maps won't be as big in comparison to other shooters?

Probably. They did also say they intend to support the game post-release, though. I wouldn't quite write off SOME kind of other mode down the line quiiite just yet (and I tend to be pessimistic on these things.)

As much as I love and want to see new modes in Splatoon like Turf War that can't really be done anywhere else (like Fill the Tank), I do think including some tried-and-true shooter gametypes would be just as good. These modes have withstood the test of time for a reason. If anything, not having, say, CTF would be a huge disappointment because the game is made so well for objective gametypes. Turf War is practically Territories anyway, but it kind of replaces TDM, too. CTF in a fast, movement-based shooter would be fast-paced and would amplified the strategy needed because of how quick you may be able to score. I really hope it makes the cut.
At the very least, I don't want only Turf War. It's fun, but gametype variety is always a plus.

I wonder if there'll be some kind of map creator or custom game type thing
I'd like to make a game mode like hide and seek, where one team hides in a huge arena of ink, while another team has to find them with a limited ink supply.
Kinda similar to prop hunt from gmod

In many ways, how you earn gold, the currency with which you purchase in game "rewards" of a sort is in direct conflict with any game type that isn't Turf Wars assuming they work under the same rules. It and the primary objective of said mode are at first glance though to be one in the same thus you can essentially kill two birds with one stone. That's lovely for it, but what about other game types? Will the game's fundamentals be altered when you play other game types? Is that even a sound idea? Many players will be enticed by the clothing and/or new weapon load-outs. What the fastest way to earn them? Turf Wars. What about other game types? What's the incentive to play those other than you've grown tired of Turf Wars when rewards are no longer a concern for you?
Just about everything in a match revolves around encouraging you to spread as much ink as possible. That said, gaining the majority surface area and holding it in order to win the match via expansion and subsequent defense of your territory and raising your individual ink score are not the same thing. To explain, you could simply allow the other team to paint over your ink again and again just so you could continuously repaint it in order to help raise your own ink score instead of actively ensuring they spread as little ink as possible. Doing the former can actually hurt your team's chances of winning the match.
It's too bad the match results screen doesn't tell you what percentage of your team's total surface area covered is attributed to each member. That is to say player one provided 13% of the 45% total covered and so on. I could easily see players with a high ink score with a comparably low total surface area contributed since again they are not the same thing. Two players on opposite teams could go back and forth repainting one hallway all game and wind up with a high ink score yet because it was just that hallway end up with comparably little to show for the main goal.
