^Does a simple passing comment really require such an indef analysis on why you disagree with it?
Even one of the main developers said during the E3 reveal that his way of playing the game is hiding and ambushing people. The game is built to accommodate multiple play styles. Hiding in the ink propobably won't be a very effective tactic, but it will happen and will catch some people off guard. Hide, splat the opposing team member that is coming by, spray, and go back into hiding to repeat. Not exactly holding your team back as you are preventing people from advancing further into your territory while still spreading your own ink.

Why would a player choose to hide in ink? How exactly does that benefit them and/or the rest of the team? Doesn't that go against the game's win condition? The more time you spend essentially sitting still doing nothing as a squid in your own ink, the less time you have to actually build up your ink score or contribute in any meaningful way to your team's total coverage percentage. At that point, you've become the weight dragging the rest of the team down. Camping in Turf War makes you a liability. The mechanic makes no sense from the standpoint of what is essentially this game's flagship game mode. Not only does waiting around to splatter someone offer little reward for time spent basically doing nothing, we already know there are perks that lessen and perhaps even outright eliminate the already minor downsides of getting splattered. I cannot see the ability to hide in your own ink as a squid as long as you remain completely still having been thought up with Turf War in mind. It makes far more sense in a mode where splattering other inklings is your primary objective. In a mode like that it makes a whole lot more sense to me as a potential tactic. I imagine he meant hiding in ink while moving, not just sitting there chillin'. Someone who is trying to flank you by squidding can be pinned down by the Hot Blaster's big blast radius, forcing them to surface and spread more ink if they want to get anywhere. In this way, both the main objective of trying to cover territory and the minor objective of splattering enemies are covered. Incidentally, I imagine all this strategic thinking is going to happen very fast...firefights between in the main mode seem to last only a few seconds, which makes sense since the focus is on spreading ink around.

Because you can dodge Ink fire by going into your ink, or ambush oncoming opposing Inklings. Stop taking everything so serious.

Hiding in ink also refills your ammo.

Holy damn, you are obnoxious. How about you wait the game to be out before saying there is no advantage in hiding in the ink, Mr. or Ms. Know it All?

The game directors said on the very first E3 trailer for Splatoon that the favourite strategy of one of them was to hide in ink and try to ambush people, while the other one prefers to play defensive and stay on his base. And the producer Nogami-san was the one who played bad, remember? Poor Nogami-san At first these might seem like "bad strategies" because you are not firing and covering as much territory as you can, but if this guys do it, there has to be a good reason.

Hey it looks like Yellow is now an official color in the Multiplayer! I wonder what color will be matched with yellow... Probably purple and/or blue, since the ink colours are always "contrasting" colours on the opposite sides of a colour wheel, from what I've seen. Hence why Blue Dude and Orange Gal are always up in each other's business in the promo art And that bullhorn looks ultra fun. I wonder if the Inkling screams into it? I dunno if anybody here can translate...maybe I'll sneak over to NeoGAF and steal theirs!

Probably would be optional but.. what if you had to shout into the Wii U mic to use the bullhorn? Imagine annoying everyone around you. xD

Imagine annoying everyone around you. xD It'd be like shouting into the Famicom's mic to kill the Pol's Voice enemies, or shouting into the mic to use the Megaphone in Animal Crossing: New Leaf...it'd be that those examples in making everybody look like a bunch of loons Also, I stole this from NeoGAF...it appears that Japan's Club Nintendo will be getting Splatoon swag, such as this AWESOME TOWEL: From GAF user "twothunder": Towel handkerchief squid (Splatoon) Need points: 120 points Exchange start: May (planned) ※ This offer has not yet been exchanged start Wii U software "Splatoon (Splatoon)" of May will be released is designed towel handkerchief at. (Material: 100% cotton, size: about 25 × 25cm) I hope Nintendo's new loyalty thing gets this eventually.

That would be cool but doubt it. The Bullhorn looks awesome and is bigger than I thought. It doesn't look like it shoots ink though. It looks like it uses sound waves to shoot the ink on the ground whatever direction you use it. If this is the case it could be a double edge sword because if you use it where the ground has an even ratio of yours and the opposing teams ink, you could potentially spread both yours and their ink around. As well as kill your own teammates because it's not just your ink being shot around.
That would be interesting if so.

Hey it looks like Yellow is now an official color in the Multiplayer! I wonder what color will be matched with yellow... I think there is multiple colors that can be matched up with each color. Also yellow was confirmed a long time ago: And: In fact, in those pictures it appears to be a different shade of yellow. Perhaps there is multiple shades of each color! (Also, yes, I know the picture above is also my current profile picture )

Also, did we ever confirm for sure if red is in the game?

I want to make this smaller) And: (Hey this was a post I made; I can edit it to whatever I want! ) In fact, in those pictures it appears to be a different shade of yellow. Also, check out this thread about red being in the game (Actual evidence at the bottom): Link
