With Splat Zones, it is just as important to keep your opponents away from the zones as it is to keep the zones. Holding the opponents back in their spawn zones will probably be a key component in this mode imo.

Yeah, which I believe this is where the snipers will be key. Now I know there is still the super jump, but if you watch gameplay of Splat Zones, many ties when people attempt to super jump, they end up getting splatted almost immediately. Therefore, they take an alternate path: swimming to the zone(s). If you can keep their spawn area covered in your ink, then it will at least slow them down.

yea but, you're invincible while on your respawn zone so you can take back the base, campers will have to work really hard to keep teams away.

I can already see trophies of Octarians in the next Smash Bros. The Octarians give me a Pikmin vibe with their weird looks, like some of the monsters you face in those games that look really strange.

Pft. Geez, that one looks goofy. The tiny legs on all of those guys are pretty great. I think it's the contrast between the cartoonish bodies and the legs with normal proportions. And why do they wear boots but nothing else?

Good thing those guys are on fixed turrets, unlike the snipers in a certain space marine game that move around and have ungodly aim

So that other Rifle is called their Classic Squiffer according to the tumblr. That name sounds...suggestive. Definitely a reference to the "Swiffer", but man, gutter mind. Also, the Tumblr mentions the StreetPass Plaza squid hat, and possibly makes reference to the knit hats you can get on Etsy
