This isn't a new map, but thanks for the heads up either way. I'm always up for new Splatoon footage especially when the past few months have been so dry.
It's crazy to me how many of the same perk you can have on a build. It seems a given the same perk's effect can stack with itself multiple times, but is there a limit to this in diminishing returns at some point? Players will have a somewhat interesting choice to make when choosing clothing. Do I go for a variety of different weaker perks or should I focus on a select few perks in an effort to maximum their potency? One squid movement speed increase perk might not offer much of a boost by itself, but three or more of said perk at once most certainly will.
Jack of many trades or a master of few? If you want to focus on two or three specific areas like say ink management, survivability, or human/squid form mobility it may indeed be better to stack your perks. I suppose it also depends in part on how much an effect a single instance of any one perk has on your actual performance. Is having just one instance of all sorts of perks enough of a benefit in those areas to matter?

Jack of many trades or a master of few? perks should reward finding a niche playstyle imo, really broad perks like "max hp up" or "walk speed up" should have a really insignificant impact unless they're stacked, while more specific ones like "higher grenade toss" or "faster ink refill" should be more substantial

Since each piece of equipment has a main perk and up to three secret perks as well, do you think that the secrets perks will be completely different to the main perk? What I mean is, while each piece of equipment has a main perk listed, will the unlockable ones all be different from that?

Two words. Not Necessarily. I'll use a screenshot from the video TC posted as an example. I want to direct your attention toward the grey and white headband which has two slots, both with the exact same perk. So, the one to three other extra perks a clothing article comes with may indeed be identical to the main one it comes with whether that be just one, some, or even all of them. On the other hand, the yellow shirt and white shoes each have different secondary perks than their main one. So it could go either way.

I think in one of the videos someone posted a while back, they said/nintendo told them that clothes will have a random perk. Or it will show you one and then the ? marked slot/s would be a random perk. Idk i don't remember what video i heard it on :S
also IK the map looked familiar, but I just titled the thread like they did the video x.x

Yeah that's still a concern for some people. I sincerely hope perks aren't randomized as it'll make getting the exact 12 you want on possibly a set of clothes you approve of visually that much more difficult.
In the mean time, have some more Saltspray Rig and all the other maps too for that matter video action. Ntower has some nice footage for anyone who may not have already seen their videos. Also, if you were looking for more footage of this weeks featured developer weapon the Splattershot jr. these'll be right up your alley. One match features no less than seven at once. No you didn't misread that.
Here's a potentially fun game. Try to guess just what in the world some of the perk icons you see in these two videos mean. I'm drawing a complete blank on a few of them myself. Such wonderful possibilities!

That yellow poster in the screenshot.. Is that a Miiverse drawing? It looks like it...? I think I saw in a GameXplain video that there was some kind of drawing/miiverse post similar to this in the warehouse level, though it's tough to say concretely at this point. I think it'd be cool for miiverse posts to show up on billboards and signs in the plaza, or in different levels.

Yeah, looking at the shape, size, and doodle-like appearance, it definitely looks to be so. Maybe a premade one for the demo though. It's definitely possible considering Smash will have a stage that does the same thing. That would be an awesome feature.

Cool video! I loved their discussion on most shooters being "too serious" and how this game just seems so fun.
