I know not many people care about sales but it would be nice for Nintendo to launch a new IP for the hardcore audience that is successful as Pikmin when it first launched on the GameCube.

Oh yes most definitely. I hope this game does insanely well. Not only would it mean more players for online, but it would ensure Nintendo doesn't stop making awesome games like it.

Of course! More popularity means more online players, dlc, and new IPs

I think it could be more popular because it's more accessible.

Oh yeah I can see Splatoon being a system seller! Not as much as Smash and Mario kart but I think Splatoon will be an instant hit and perhaps the sales will incourage patches for the game as well as DLC. I would sure buy any DLC released!

Kinda unrelated, but I never actually beat Pikmin when I was a kid. I always just killed all my pikmin

Well since my Account Pic is Olimar Im assuming you all know I am a huge fan of all pikmin games. I would love it if Nintendo's next huge console IP sold just as well!

Pikmin? Not a chance. That series did progressively worse sales wise with each new entry. Mario Kart on the other hand? Now we're talking.

He literally opened his post with " I know not many people care about sales ... " How in the world did you interpret that refer to a series general overall fan popularity? The two are not one in the same.

I think this game will sell well it is interesting, fresh and something that none of the other next-gen consoles have done yet, so if they do it right (Points towards halo:MCC) things should look up for wii u as a console and hopefully DLC

Splatoon looks like the type of game that could be fun for casuals and could work in a pro setting. It will be interesting to see how it's popularity plays out! I can see it being a must-have among people who already have a wii u, but I don't know if it will be a system seller. Hoping for the best though.
