Here's hoping they will breath life into this game after they are finished with the game.
Also what kind of rewards you earn in Hero mode?

I'm relieved they worry enough for the people who already paid for the game, this will probably mean future patches to balance the equipments, and maybe including extra features if most people ask for them after playing the actual game. That will make the game more competitive and fun, I was expecting it but I'm glad to have a confirmation, you never know for sure.
As for the rewards in Hero mode, they only said you won't earn money. Maybe you still earn experience points but I doubt it, or maybe you unlock the "hero suit" after you beat it, but it would seem a bit pointless. I think you won't have any rewards at all... except for having fun and practising your moves of course. But some kind of reward that doesn't affect the online matches would be nice.

I'm very happy to here that splatoon will still be supported after it launches! I hope this means we will have patches and perhaps even DLC! Maybe that will include new weapons, clothes, stages, and maybe even extra missions in the campaign!

Honestly, for me, it's hard to guess. I'd wager more stages and some balance patches, but I've no clue if anything else would come.

I really hope the game gains more features. We don't really know how extensive patches will get for the game or if they'll be necessary at all. DLC, sure. But I'd love more features like more voice chat, clan system, automated tournaments, UI stuff, gametypes, etc.
I think this also means that they want to support some sort of competitive scene for the game. It makes sense. They aren't guaranteed to be making a sequel just yet, so supporting this game after its release isn't out of the question.

Th game may be incredibly long lasting if the devs and nintendo get behind the competitive scene.

We'll have to make some serious moves, then. I know NoA is interested, but that means little unless it gets back to Japan headquarters that the Smash community is also very interested in Splatoon (and competitive players/wannabes in general). Japan is where everything happens, and it's where we need to be concerned.

I'm looking forward to international Splatoon tournaments
It'd be cool if teams got sponsored too, by various esports teams xD

Hard to guess? In a game with purchasable in game items? If DLC doesn't include new weapon load-outs, maps, and of course a slew of new clothing items to purchase in game I'll eat my hat if I actually had one. If the first thought that came to your mind when you read they'll be "supporting" the game was not how they could exploit it to make more money you've forgotten the reality of the situation. Balance patches? Like all the ones Mario Kart 8 and Smash 4 are getting? Oh wait ... Splatoon will be different though! Right?

Smash has gotten multiple balance changes since 3DS released in the fall. For a fighting game, that's pretty frequent. I would turn it down a notch, too.

Damn, someone's salty. :L I'm just hoping for more stages and frequent patches. The dev team seems to be really passionate about splatoon so I'm hoping that they continue to put their love into the game after launch.

Not to be mean but you can sound condescending in your posts kind of often. Lets not start the false stigma of competitive players treating casuals harshly for playing differently in Splatoon. Not that you don't have a fair point, but the way you expressed it wasn't entirely necessary. On topic, I wonder if we can get Amiibo support? It can be patched in and while I personally don't want it a male/female inkling Amiibo would be great to have and unlocking cool stylized weapons like the FLUDD or Master Sword themed paint roller would be charming.

If there really is no other modes online than Turf War, I want modes and maps as DLC. Modes should be free though.

Thing is, the main goal behind interviews or spreads like those in the latest Famitsu are less about giving gamers additional information about a game and more about generating buzz. The focus is on getting you interested, to get the community talking and speculating. A phrase like "supporting the game" doesn't actually give you anything solid to latch onto. You stop and ask yourself .. Wait a minute! What does that mean exactly? Support it how? What sort of market are they aiming at with Splatoon? How do I reconcile my vision of what I want the game to be against the reality? What even is the reality at this point? I wish I had a better grasp on that.
Competitive minded players get it into their heads that it surely must mean constant balance patches, new maps and game types in order to keep the meta-game fresh and thriving despite not actually knowing whether or not that more dedicated group is meant to be this game's focus. Some, like me, regardless of what the actual "support" entrails see it as means for them to potentially take advantage of anyone who decides to take the initial plunge. Think Hyrule Warriors or Mario Kart 8 to a much lesser extent. Basically new paid content to entice players to come back for more.
Who knows? Maybe they'll throw us a bone and the super duper DLC bursting full of loads of new content, balance patches, and more clothes than you could fit in a hundred closets will be free. It'll be everything you've never even knew you wanted and more. It's funny when I think about it. I may get the game and lose interest a week in. Ignorance can be both blissful yet at the same time quite stressful. Part of you wants to like the game; hopes that when you finally pop it in your Wii U it'll be just as you fun as imagined it would be yet there's this lingering fear that it won't be. That you'll be disappointed. It's the creeping shadow of uncertainty. You become desperate for any information that might reassure you and latch onto it wherever you find it.
