Stop by our lounge to get hands-on time with the demo that was featured at E3 2014! get hands-on time with the demo that was featured at E3 2014! demo that was featured at E3 2014! E3 2014!
Well shit. So much for new information or footage. Perhaps it isn't a totally lost cause, but I was hoping for an updated build of the game at the very least. Come to Apex to play a no longer relevant version of the game not at all indicative of the final product that you already saw 6+ months ago. Hurray? It's as if we're regressing. I fail to see the point in pushing a build of the game that fails to represent the game as it actually is rather than what it was. I suppose that half a year old build is all they had to offer.
I mean this is obviously more for people who didn't get to play Splatoon at all when it was announced at E3 than anything else. It's about getting the word out to people that for whatever reason don't even know this game exists. If we want new information, best we can hope for are continued updates for the developer twitter.
Thanks for the heads up I guess.

Pretty disappointed it's not a new build as well. Was hoping to see some of the new stages in action. They look really fun.
Oh well, at least people can mess around and find new techniques or something along those lines. If anything it's nice for attendees that didn't get to go to E3.

Stable demo builds of a game can take months to make. You basically have to commit to the idea really early, and then develop for it. The APEX partnership didn't happen soon enough in advance to really prep for it like that, and chances are the team's VERY busy integrating the last pieces of the game for the next month or so, then they go into final testing phase. During this time, the game's undoubtedly gonna have some killer bugs to iron out, considering all the new stuff they've implemented since E3. It was more than likely simple a matter of 'we want to keep to our timetable, so let's just use what we have.'

So after all the choas that went down with Apex the tournament was moved to a new hotel like an hour away. Splatoon is staying at the old venue, so as far as I can tell from what I've read Splatoon is no longer playable at Apex? Nintendo isn't moving the unites to the new venue.
Well. Dang. What the heck.

Love the art on that poster. I wonder if anyone had taken a pic of the blue Inkling hidden behind it? Oh well, maybe we'll get a better view of the artwork used there for something else. Shame about the commotion I heard regarding the hotel and APEX causing the Splatoon booths not to be moved to the new venue therefore not many got to play it. Edit: Nevermind, found a pic.
