Yeah but Jumpcancelling/shorthopping would be for different uses, not necessarily meant to be used together.

About Squidhopping, this could be really useful because when mastered you should only be in human form for 3 seconds. What I'm trying to say is as a squid your hitbox is smaller so you are going super fast while having a small hitbox.

I hope people will still realize they need to put ink on the field to win, the splatterhopping looks good for transportation, but puts a completely limited amount of ink on the field while using it :S

But if you gotta retreat for some reason, this is one of the best things to do in enemy ink for some weapons.

It's a little hard to tell from videos, but I wonder if fall/air speeds are different between normal mode and squid mode. Makes me wonder if it would be better to stay in one mode while falling, and switch to the other when gaining height, adding to movement speed. For example, if normal mode gained more height, but switching to squid mode in the air would allow you to gain speed. However, this is just speculation, and I can't wait for the game to come out to find out!

Yeah I have actually been wondering a lot about this lately. It seems like you would keep your momentum when you jump as a squid coming from your own color of ink, even if you are jumping over/into enemy or neutral ink. Weird that I haven't seen any gameplay of people doing that, in fact, I haven't seen much jumping in squid form at all whatsoever. I feel like there will end up being tons of possibilities from jumping as a squid from your own ink.

What I'd really like to see is people taking advantage of the climbing up walls mechanic in competitive play. It'd be pretty sick to get a kill while hopping out of squid form from the wall.

I doubt that the usage of squidhopping/splatterhopping would be too useful in the "Turf War" mode, primarily because the only real objective is to cover as much turf as possible. Getting around the map quickly is undoubtedly a useful skill, but shooting small circles of ink in the process isn't going to cover much turf. Although it may not be a viable option in Turf War, I believe Squidhopping/Splatterhopping can be utilized with amazing results in Splatoon's ranked game modes: "Splat Zones," and the recently added "Tower Control". The main objective of Splat Zones is to hold a small chunk of turf on the map for a given amount of time. No other turf covered will contribute to the score or your team's victory, therefore only the "Splat zone" is necessary to cover. This means that reaching and inking the splat zone before your opponents is imperative in order to get an early advantage. In this situation, using the squidhopping/splatterhopping technique to reach the splat zone quickly would be greatly beneficial to your team. Likewise, in the game mode Tower Control, each team competes to ride on a tower as it moves towards the enemy's side of the map. Victory is achieved when a team has successfully taken the tower to the target enemy zone, or if the distance to the enemy's target is closer than their distance to yours. The tower is always at the beginning of the map when the game initially starts, meaning that the teams most often race to claim the tower and proceed with it to the enemy "base". This would mean that moving to the tower's original starting point before the opposing team would also be very useful and would provide the quicker team with an early advantage, which can be achieved by the utilization of Squidhopping/Splatterhopping. Sorry if this was a little long to read, I just thought I'd share my thoughts on the technique and its possible usages in the game. Anyway, I definitely agree that it is an advanced technique, and that it could be used in very clever ways to achieve victory.
