That sounds good to me. I'm up for it called teamjumping and then this squidhopping. Also, this quote system is freaking out, and Idk why.

I thought the jumping to your team mates thing was already officially named the Super Jump during E3, why rename it? I remember the treehouse guys referring to it as that a few times throughout that three day display thing Nintendo was doing. Or am I wrong?

Oh, then we'll call it that. I haven't seen the E3 vids in so long. I should probably go back to them soon.

It's somewhat interesting to note that (ink/squid)hopping is only useful as a movement technique when there is no ink on the path you're taking. You're essentially sacrificing ink coverage early on for quicker map penetration as far as your characters location on it is concerned. Note that if someone tried this in a shootout with another player all their opponents would have to do is follow the obvious path. He shot an orange puddle in front of him. I wonder which way he's going to jump. You're not invincible in your own ink so all they'll have to do is cut you off. The one on the offensive would have the advantage. That's why, at least early on, I'd rather focus on spreading as much ink as possible to avoid being caught in a situation where you're surrounded knee deep in your opponents ink bar pushing into their territory on the other side of the map. It's also quite obvious what you're doing when your opponents look at the map and see small bits on ink appearing in a path on the map. It's clever that way. If you're making ink, you're telling everyone exactly where you are. If there's already ink on the map, they'll know which paths you can take that offer that most speed. You make a really good point, but I wouldn't discount that early advantage. There will definitely be different ways to play the game, and on top of that, due to there being 4 to a team (is that the right wording?), you can definitely have early game variations based on how many rush forward and how many stay behind. Also, if the name isn't in stone, I would prefer to not have it called splatterhopping due to kills also being called splats/splatters. Squidhopping is ok, but it's too close to the team teleport a lot are calling squidjumping. I would personally call this technique shothopping. Yeah, I kinda prefer shothopping over the other names so far, rolls off the tongue a bit more and, like you said, makes the most sense. Speaking of which I'm pretty curious to see how it will work with other weapons, and if it will even work at all with paintbrushes/paintrollers. Snipers also seem to be left in the dust a little here, because im fairly certain that either it will take too long to actually shoot ink and revert back to squid, or it will use up too much ink per shot to make the tactic truly worth it.

shothop looks too much like shorthop to me i'd suggest blitzshot/blitzhop since it refers to the quick shots you make and the form of movement

I think it should be called the AncientDarkWolfAdvancedBabyMoonBrigadeMovementTechniqueChapterOne.
Seriously though, can anyone who tried this at E3 say how easy it is to turn while your in the air after each hop? Like, could you be mid-jump and then turn to either change directions of the ink-/splatter-/squid-hop or at least turn and land in human form to spray off to the side? Or do you have to land and then turn?

Your character carries momentum when you jump, you can't change direction in mid-air iirc.

Here's an idea. How about we wait until we have information from the final build of the game rather than a seven plus month old demo.? It's the difference between a rough and final draft of a paper. As such, it's rather foolish to use it as a basis for discussion regarding the final game. Whether or not you can or cannot turn the camera/your inkling in midair in the demo is relevant only to the demo. How a demo plays is not necessarily how the final build of the game will. In short, right now we have no way of knowing. Simple as that.

There's already something people are calling Splatterhopping. Geez, people are sure learning quickly. Actually, the Devs were talking about it too. it looks simple enough to. effective for getting into the action at the beginning of the match
