Wait does LAN mean you plug multiple TVs into one or two Wii Us? Or is FunkyLobster wrong? LAN is connecting multiple consoles via ethernet cables. You're creating a Local Area Network (LAN) by connecting multiple consoles with a physical wire.

You're creating a Local Area Network (LAN) by connecting multiple consoles with a physical wire. even if its still 8 wii us, LAN would make things much easier for setting up a tournament at a physical location... no wireless interference from wifi or worrying about weird ping spikes, for example, since you won't be playing online

Just need a switch for LAN, don't even need internet.

I wouldn't mind joining up for a competitive community, but I'm so rarely able to be on and do things any more with working so much. I'm not on when most people are any more.

Again, no LAN isn't the end of the offline competitive scene. Read my earlier solution. We really have to wait and see.

I am interested in an online competitive scene (which doesn't seem to exist in Smash sadly). Offline/local isn't my thing.

The Reason Smash online is virtually nonexsistent is due to how bad it actually is. FD is honestly a bad stage to choose. They should have went with a battlefield type layout for the online.

Fighting games in general rarely ever have online competitive scenes. Input speed is very important in fighting games and there will always be input lag playing online. Fighting games have a lot of info (or at least Smash specifically I know for a fact does) to keep track of online so lag is more possible too.

Not really, it's mostly because it's laggy. Also, any player that would actually want to practice legitimately wouldn't be playing For Glory. But yeah it's kinda funny that they picked FD when Battlefield or Smashville would've been better...or just have a playlist with legal stages.

online? i have no doubts splatoon will do fine. the game is entirely unique in the arcade shooter genre, and the fans and devs have a very clear interest in supporting it. the only reason i voice my concerns about LAN is because LAN would help the longevity of the game by a lot. however, with or without LAN, i believe the game will thrive

I think I may be creating my Squad pretty soon... My Suicide Squad... weapons ablazing, going for the kill... your own kill... Okay just kidding. Although Suicide Squad, named after the DC comic series, would be cool.
