According to Rodgersbase from YouTube, as of April 4, Inkling was the second most voted for 1st party character in the US! i wonder who was first. i guess either: Ridley Shrek Waluigi Shrek isn't a Nintendo character. He's a Dreamworks character.

The most voted for character was actually King K. Rool

King K Roll is one of the most generic, typical, uninspired video game characters. I do not support him. I rather Lord Frederik from Tropical Freeze, or Bashmaster.

Already voted. She was the first to get my vote, followed by Dixie a few days later and Vivian today. =]

Yep, let's make it happen: Hopefully if they do Inkling they do it like Robin, 4 Male and 4 Female pallet swaps.

I predict the Inklings will happen. It just makes so much sense!

That's kinda a double-edged sword. I've seen a lot of people say 'Well, I'm not gonna vote for the Inklings because it's too obvious they'll be in'.
Problem is, you can't think like that. I feel like corporations go off data before anything else- if they don't see a lot of Inkling support, they're likely to think 'Well, maybe people don't want them in Smash, despite the general popularity." Which may sound silly, but you can't exactly read everyone's opinion on why they're not voting Inkling. You just go with the baseline. 'When you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras.' So to speak.

So to speak. I completely understand where you're coming from here, but the point where I diverge from this idea is in the fact that Splatoon is a distinct property of Nintendo with recognizable characters. Most of their properties, even the more minor ones such as Pikmin and now Animal Crossing and even the casual Wii series (Trainer), have some playable character representation in Smash. My biggest disappointment so far with playable characters is that the most underrepresented franchise is Metroid, with only one playable character. As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't count that you can play as Samus in either her Power Suit or Zero Suit. That is a bunch of malarkey to say that is two characters, because it absolutely is not. Make no mistake, though. I'm not an advocate of having the pteranodon space pirate as a playable character, but how about at least a Galactic Federation solder coughAnthonyHiggscough?

Possible special moves:
B: Shoot ink with Splattershot. Limited ammo, ink fades over time. Ammo restored by using Down B. Ink slows down opponents
Side B: Lobs a Splat Bomb, using up some of your ammo. Spreads ink
Down B: Squid form in ink. You move faster and trip opponents if you move under them, but you can be attacked by low hitboxes. Restores ammo even if you are not in ink, but you are very helpless without ink around you.
Up B: Super Jump. A big ol' jump but you have no hitbox. You can start shooting ink on the way down
Thoughts?

Just that I've heard that line be used as an excuse for why a person wouldn't vote Inklings instead of someone else.

Yeah that is stupid. We all want the Inklings in, and from what I've heard you can vote twice!
