I'm just going to drive to my GameStop when online retailers start taking preorder's. Really hope that doesn't end up screwing me over. Don't want to have to wait for them to arrive in the mail.

I'm reading reports that Jigglypuff was already launched for preorder at Target and the initial preorders seem to have sold out already. Link: www.target.com/p/nintendo-amiibo-jigglypuff-target-exclusive/-/A-17315174Edit: If anyone asks, "Why is this relevant? Jigglypuff isn't from Splatoon!" It is relevant because it is part of the same wave as the first three Splatoon amiibo releasing at the end of May. Any news of any of this upcoming wave is relevant as it could be a sign of something happening or about to happen with the first three Splatoon amiibo.

Aye, Sky, I saw your thread. Sorry about not helping get it noticed.
I don't know where everyone is located, but in the USA it's a shame that we have retailer-exclusive figures. I'm not so much a fan of that. Ness would be nice to have, but I don't care to do business with Gamestop. It's nothing against anyone who works there. I have had multiple bad experiences with the store and other stores owned by the same company.
I'm also not a fan of retailers not limiting per customer on the rare amiibo. The only one I've seen actually do this so far is Amazon Canada on the Gold Mario (Gold Mario is exclusive to Wally World-don't particularly care to do business with them, either- in USA, but not exclusive in Canada). I think the reason retailers in general don't limit per customer as much as they used to is because they are struggling to compete for sales against online retailers. This makes sense but also makes it more difficult for the consumers who can't find the figures in physical or virtual stores because they are selling them all to scalpers.

Well Ik gamestop limited it down to 1 per person on MH4 new 3ds xl and Majora's Mask edition. Sadly never had the money for the first, and the last one was a joke to attempt to buy. and ..........I've actually had better experience with gamestop then anyone else. also its ok, I just wanted it seen lol. Get the word out so ppl know of the rumor.i really hope preorders for the inklings hit today at 2, it feels like my best chance. since i'll have an inkling of when it'll come out, instead of not knowing and fussing over the refresh button for the next few days.

When I waited in line at Meijer (regional upper-Midwest slightly upscale retailer like a cross between Menards and Walmart) for the Wii U launch, I think they were limit 1 per customer, first come, first served.

Target no longer exists in Canada. They bought all the old Zellers giving them way too many stores, had bare shelves and high prices, lost a ton of money, and pulled the plug after a mere two years. Any of you who are business students would do well to study them as an example of how to fail in the most spectacular way possible.
So yeah, Amazon : P

I've never been highly impressed with Target. My favorite retailer is Meijer, though they aren't quite as good as in the 90s. Everyone outside of Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky are missing out.
