Okay guys, so this is going to be the place where we can update this thread with all the weapons, sub weapons, and special weapons. That way, it is all in a single, easy to find thread. Just post the weapons, sub weapon, or special weapon in a post in this thread. Additionally, you can post a full loadout. In order for the weapon to be posted the following must be in your post: - An image of the weapon
- A Name of the weapon (if given, must have proof of the name)
- Stats of the weapon (Also if given)
- Any additional known information, which can include small clips of gameplay footage
This post will be regularly updated as you guys post the information. So Let's Get started!Main WeaponsThe Main Weapons are your primary weapons. They are the most used weapons, and determine the rest of a defaulted loadout. In addition to different main weapons, there are subcategories where weapons are grouped. Each subcategory focuses on three different statistics. The following is all the known information about each weapon. There are three spoilers that will be broken down with more information on Each weapon. The three categories are grouped on Charged-Based weapons, Shot-Based weapons, and Roller weapons. These are grouped based on both characteristics and comparable stats.
Shot-Based Weapons
Splattershot Jr. Name: Splatershot Jr.
Stats:
Video Footage:
Additional Information: - Rapid fire weapon
- Spreads Ink quickly
- Not as powerful as other weapons
- Efficiently Splatters at close-mid range
- Consumes less ink than other weapons
Roller-Based WeaponsSplat Roller Name: Splat Roller
Stats:
Video footage:
Additional Information:
- Excellent at laying down Ink
- Close-Range Weapon
- Has a Projectile attack
(Medium Size)
- Does not excel at Inking walls
Charged-Based Weapons These are relatively self-explanatory although it does depend on the variant in use. Thanks in part to this categories superior range, users can often blast ink from a safe distance. Versions that sacrifice range make up for it through improvements in the inkling’s mobility and a reduction in the charge time. Basically, the greater the range, the more difficult it becomes to rectify an error or react when directly pressured. One must choose between longer range and adaptability on the two ends of this categories spectrum.
Due to its slow firing rate of this weapon’s base mechanic, users are encouraged to avoid direct head to head confrontations. Whenever ones space is encroached upon, they’re usually better off fleeing using ink paths and the squid form or when given enough warning, the Super Jump in order to escape the majority of the time. Pay attention to where enemy ink is appearing on the map relative to your current location. Is there a clear trail or one newly forming leading toward you? React accordingly. Chargers more than any other category of weapon are the least capable of dealing with medium to close range combat situations.
You want to avoid situations like whenever possible. As such, Hit and Run is a good rule of thumb to follow when using chargers. Like all other weapons, you leave a clearly obvious “trail of ink” in your wake so to speak each time you fire. Not only that, but the laser aiming sight that appears the moment you begin charging your shot is clearly visible not only to your teammates, but to all enemy inklings as well. Both do plenty to give away your position which is why it’s imperative you put plenty of forethought into every charge you make and pay strict attention to your surroundings at all times. A calm mind with solid situational awareness go a long way when using chargers.
Splat Charger Name: Splat Charger Stats: Video Footage: Additional Information: - Fire rate depends on length of charge
- Long-ranged weapon
- Creates straight path when fully charged
- Can be charged to deal more damage and a longer ink trail
- Great for inking up walls
Sub WeaponsThe Sub Weapons are all grenade-based. They take a portion of the ink tank to launch a projectile of ink. They are powerful and kill inklings easily. These cannot be picked, but are chosen depending on the Main Weapon that is picked. The following is all the known information on Sub Weapons. Special WeaponsThe Special Weapon is a super weapon that shoots an extreme amount of ink in an area. In order to use the Special Weapon, an ink gauge must be filled by using the other weapons. Like the Sub Weapons, the Special Weapons cannot be chosen, but the type of weapon relies on what Main Weapon is picked. The following is all the known information on Special Weapons.Bubbler
Name: Bubbler Video Footage: The Bubbler creates a barrier around your Inkling that protects you from all damage for a limited amount of time. This greatly enhances the Splattershot Jr's (one of the weapons it is paired with) offensive potential, as now the quick-firing weapon can now swarm in on enemies controlling a point, perhaps leading the team in a surprising push towards the objective, or to regain territory during a congested firefight. However, the most interesting thing about the Bubbler isn't just that it protects the player that activates it. Along with yourself, any of your teammates that comes in contact with you gains the Bubbler ability as well. This means that players who have this special weapon equipped will want to alert their teammates when the Bubbler is ready. Now, your entire team can push for the objective after activation of the Bubbler. With each of your teammates granted invincibility for a short amount of time, enemies can easily be overwhelmed by your team's aggression and quick ink coverage. Therefore, it's crucial that Splattershot Jr's take advantage of the weapon's rapid fire-rate and wide ink coverage to charge up the Special meter. Communication is key to utilize the Bubbler to its highest potential, as this weapon can definitely turn the tides of battle. Known Loadouts

Yep! Like the game, it will grow and develop as things change and we learn more. It will be similar to a wiki, so to speak. Once we get even more weapons and such, I plan on categorizing all of it. The reason nothing is filled out is for a few reasons. A) this should be a group project, SquidBoards. And B)I do not know every single weapon that is availalbe, and more than one person working at this will complete it much quicker. I can begin this of course, but yeah.

Yep! If you want to add it in, all you gotta do is get an image and try and find any other info of that weapon! If you cannot find any more info, maybe someone else can help after it is added.

I'm reluctant to jump the gun on this. Mainly because we don't know what the final main weapon stats and their sub and special weapons are going to be. Even many of the names have changed between builds. I could post screenshots of the Quick Ink Rifle's (which will probably have been renamed to the Quick Splat Charger by the time the game launches because you know not enough weapon names have the word splat in them already) loadout and stats, but if it's not what's representative of the final retail build of the game, it won't do any good in the long run.

In regards to Xerios' concerns, we could just compile the names and pictures/videos and hold off on the stats. Should be easy to change the names when/if they change at launch/the next preview.
How many forward/slashes can go in one post?

You'd still be creating unnecessary work. By waiting until information is confirmed to be final, you won't have to go back and constantly make corrections and updates. Getting a head start is a great idea, as long as the foundation is solid. We don't have enough to go on right now. Our information is so lacking, we can do little more than theory craft and speculate.
An endeavor this in depth is going to take months after the game's launch to fully flesh out. Pretty much everything we could contribute outside of a rough outline would have to essentially either be redone or replaced with better more accurate data. I'd suggest further breaking down your various categories for example.
Something along the lines of:
Main Weapons
(Brief description of what that means.)
Types of Main Weapons
Ex.1 Shot-Based
(Description of this subtype)
The sub-type's three stats and what they determine.
Range - (description)
Attack - (description)
Rate - (description)
Ex. 1A Splattershot
Stat spread + Description + sub and special weapons
(Recommended team uses and Strategies)

For example, I believe there could be a splat roller weapon with the Sprinkler and Iron Wail, and another splat roller, that is exactly the same, but with the Ink Wall and Ink Tornado sub and special weapons...

I'm not sure what you're trying to say. You believe? No, that's literally how it works. It's just as you described it. Even though weapons do indeed come in sets of three and should be thought of as such, how else would you organize them in a guide if not by the category of the main weapon?
Because special and sub weapons are used more than once, there would be little point in describing what they do for each instance they appear in a set. Yet how each one can be utilized as part of that set is just as important as its individual description. I'm talking about how you'd go about organizing the information in the guide so that's it's easy to follow without being needlessly redundant.
Perhaps we could relegate the special and sub weapon sections to housing basic descriptions of each one along with a list of which main weapons each one is paired with. Then in the section of main weapon's themselves, include strategies and general tactics for how its supporting weapons might be used in tandem with it. If all of that seems a bit too lofty, that's perfectly fine. It'll come down to whoever is actually putting all of this together which I'd assume would be Captain Norris.

This guide could become something fantastic if enough information is gathered. Unfortunately, I won't be able to contribute as I'm actually trying to avoid learning too much about the game before it releases. I want to go into the game with a fresh mind, but if this compilation does grow into something, I would definitely use it (and possibly contribute anything learned through playing the game).

Like I said, this is something that is meant to grow and change as more information is uncovered. I almost guarantee there will be balance patches post-launch, so I do not mind changing it. I have nothing better to do anyway. And with the main post, the categories only serve as a way to begin Xeiros and a lot of what you said I had planned on doing. Stats will probably not even be going up until post-launch. Currently, this only serves as a place to go and see a list of all weapons that are known, for both general players and those keeping up with the news. But thank you for how you suggest the outline should be built. I will definitely be putting the information in that organization FunkyLobster wow that is helpful. I will add your info as soon as possible. Thanks If anyone else would like to contribute, do not be afraid to do so! Any suggestions will be taken fullheartedly!

I should point out that a Wiki for Splatoon exists, with some weapon info we could steal borrow
