What do you guys think are the chances of Nintendo Releasing an Eshop Demo for Splatoon?
I mean, this is a New IP, and I think it is likely that Nintendo would want consumers to try it out before buying this game! It seems that new IP's such as Codename Steam, and New IP's that Nintendo Publishes like Bayonetta 2, Monster Hunter 4, Wonderful 101, and Sonic Lost World have gotten demos for that very reason. Smash Brothers For 3DS even got a demo!
So what do you guys think, do you think we will get a demo? If we did have a demo, when do you guys think we will get it, and what do you expect to be on a demo of this caliber?

It's probably going to happen, they did it with Codename Steam as a tactic to get people interested in the IP, it'll probably be the same for Splatoon.

Maybe, but I think it would be hard to make a demo for a game like this. If it was the E3 build I could see it happening, but I still think it is unlikely.

I wouldn't be surprised if they do. The game's developed a surprisingly large following at this point, so having a demo would open up an even wider audience.

I sincerely don't think they will. Just doesn't seem like they'll bother.

If Monster Hunter 4 can pull off a demo, I don't see why Splatoon can't. For the demo, they would probably put one or two maps of Turfwars, which is selected randomly. They would give you like 4 Sets of Equipment which lets you try out the different weapons such as the Splat Roller, Splattershot, Splat Charger, and perhaps Paintbrush; each with their own Sub-Weapons, Clothes, and look of the Inkling. So you would choose a weapon, and go right into the standard 3 minute match. I don't think it would really be hard.... The Monster Hunter Demo also had online as well, so I don't see it out of the line of possibility.

Why not use the build they are showing press right now? I don't think there will be a demo, though. Not many first party Nintendo games get demos.

There are a variety of reasons Mr. Mouse 1. That build of Splatoon did not have online capabilities. All of the matches were connected via LAN adapters. Online is required for Turf Wars, as it is confirmed there is no AI for them. 2. That build of Splatoon was buggy. There were a couple of instances where the game actually crashed. That can lead to Wii U's bricking. It would just be easier to convert the clean, bugless build into a demo than debugging the E3 Build. 3. The game showed in E3 is not the same as the final build. The many intricacies of the game probably has drastically changed. We saw the very same with both versions of Smash 4. 4. I feel they would want to show off some of the other weapons to properly show off the game. hellotherekyleNintendo has recently released Demos for: Smash 4 Fire Emblem Awakening Codename STEAM Alpha Ruby and Omega Sapphire Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Mario and Luigi: Dream Team Mario Golf Pikmin 3 Tomadachi Life and many other 3rd Party Games I would hardly call that "Not Many 1st Party Games", especially since Nintendo is noticing that Demos have been dramatically helping sales within a game. Remember when they released the Smash Bros. and Monster Hunter 4 demos with limited copies? That dramatically attracted attention to all of these games(It's actually a reason I am playing MH4 this very instant), as it causes an internet flurry of trying to get codes. These games became the most popular things to talk about in Twitter and a Myraid of other internet sources. So, to sum up, Nintendo is learning to use demos to their advantage, and I really think they will utilize it for another New IP.

The PAX demo was identical to the E3 one, correct?

Don't count on it. That way you can be pleasantly surprised if we do wind up getting one.

I still think it won't happen as well, I just think that they should make a new demo if the E3 one was buggy. (I didn't know it was)

If they do release a demo, then I think they'll just have it include a couple of Hero mode missions. Unless they do a distributed limited release like Monster Hunter 4, then I doubt they'll release a turf war demo.
