On the subject of team composition, they had better let us see what our teammates are choosing before the match so we can adapt accordingly. Maybe not with randoms, but at least in custom matches with friends. I'd better not have to use some outside means of communication to discover everyone else on my team is using the Ink Brush as well before it's too late to do anything about it.
I'll likely find a weapon set I actually enjoy using as a whole and just stick with it. I don't have the motivation to grind out practice enough to "get good" with a load-out I don't find engaging and fun from the get go. That said, part of what will make Splatoon from getting old is the ability to easily swap between various setups from weapons to perks between matches. By doing so, it helps to keep the experience varied and fresh long after the unlocking phase is over.
In regards to Xerios' question, I half-remember a preview mentioning that you don't see what they are choosing. I could also be wrong, or they could be wrong. You DO see the equipment of those who splatter you, though.
