Splatoon won't be delayed. They need a title that can sell throughout the summer. This is the Mario Kart 8 of 2015. They cannot afford to delay it. I think X will be fall or late Summer 2015, and a new game may come in for the holiday (Metroid or Animal Crossing U or Star Fox). Just my speculation.

That there won't be a way to play with 7 specific friends. Or that you won't be able to team up with 3 friends vs random online people Those two things are what I feel to be incredibly important, and for some reason my gut is telling me to worry about them not being included..

Well, I have begun worrying about that as well ever since you cannot do those things in Code Name: STEAM. Literally all Nintendo would need to do is copy what you can do in Mario Kart 8's online multiplayer and change it to work with Splatoon. You can join freinds and create your own room in that game. Maybe make lobbies like in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. That would be a nice feature as well.

Ya. Mario kart 8s online in this game would be amazing. Especially if there's the ability to set up tournaments just like in that game and CN:S.
One last small worry. On reddit I was recently discussing with someone on the possibility of a splatoon UGC like tournament. An issue however has come to mind. How does one stream competitive splatoon? If it's a local, I guess a few setups could be hooked up to the streaming computer so gameplay from both teams can be streamed. But online tournaments? How would one stream that properly if they want to include both teams pov? I guess a spectator mode would be nice, KINDA LIKE MK8s WHEN YOUR WAITING FOR THERE TO BE A FREE SPACE IN A LOBBY/ WAITING FOR THE RACE TO END. That would be great, but once again, I'm doubtful..

I feel bad for not even thinking about color blind people with my response,I can definitely handle if all the colors only face a select few.
MK8 type online mode/s would work great, but idk if a spectator mode would work out very well. I don't think I want to watch 30 seconds of someone splattering the same wall >.<

Yeah... but then I look at Smash Bros... I still do not understand why you cannot join your friends in team battles or FFA. Ridiculous. But yeah it seems a lot is being taken from MK8, so I would assume so.

I'm worried that all the colors don't get to face eachother. Like in the videos we see green vs. purple, blue vs. orange, etc etc with only 1-2 other colors getting to face each color. Like take purple for example, I'm hoping that it will get to face against orange, yellow, dark blue, ya know? I feel like I worded this badly. anywho if each color can't face against all the other colors (and ik what colors your team is is random) then It'll be alright. In the most recent gameplay we've seen, there've been more diverse color matchups. Yellow vs. Pink, Light blue vs. Light green, etc.

I believe that is the case, being able to team up with friends and verse random people. Watch this interview They talk about using friends, though an odd number is not mentioned though. The developers also confirmed during E3 that there will be no AI during the online modes, which does worry me some. This will not be a problem during the release, but when people stop playing Splatoon, I am afraid there will be no one online in which you are stuck for a long time with 7/8 players you need in order to conduct a match. That is something I really worry about, especially if Splatoon does not get the sales it seemingly deserves.

Discussions on other sites have pointed out that people who play the WiiU COD games (which sold so badly it's almost unbelievable) still have no trouble getting matches online, and those games have no bots, either. Even if the player base is not that big, getting matches should be no problem for a fairly long time. I usually have full rooms when I play MK8 online, and that game has been out almost a year.

I have no idea if Turf War can be played with 7 CPUs, my internet isnt the best so I always find fun with CPUs (plus, good way to practice).

There is a local player mode, that's 1v1, but i personally don't like the look of it. mostly since I have no one locally to play it, and all the other modes look way more fun. On the bright side there's single player ^w^

My biggest fear for Splatoon is that it will not be easy to have local multiplayer tournaments. I am a huge fan of hosting parties at my house for every huge Nintendo release(did one for Mario Kart 8, and Super Smash Brothers), but by the looks of things right now, I'm very concerned. After that, I'd say I'm also concerned that this game will be too light on content(taking a look at the file size). Hopefully Splatoon sells well, and we can get a sequel someday.

Knowing Nintendo though, and even playing other shooters, I feel like there has be something a person playing alone with no online to do besides a single player campaign, main point of the game is competition. .

This goes back to the LAN party issue, we still don't know if Splatoon will be supporting any type of LAN parties which could potentially make or break the competitive scene.
