would it be possible to jump out of an ink splatter on the wall, throw a secondary weapon, and then get back into the ink splatter all in one motion? The gravity may be too strong in this game for this to work.
I can see a lot of techs being made with the walls though.

So, hows this pulled of? Is it just, that you are in Squidform, jump out, transform back into a human, shoot midair, and then dive into the new puddle?

First you need a stretch of space in front of you to work with. Next, you'll need a ranged weapon capable of firing in quick short bursts while moving. With those taken care of you simply shoot with a short arc to create a small ink puddle in front of you which you then utilize by transforming into a squid and jumping into. From here, still in squid form you leap out, transform into a human in midair in order to create a new puddle in front of you before changing back into a squid before you land in the new splatter you just created only to repeat this process as many times as need be to reach your destination. The idea is to land directly in the ink puddle you created while in midair. When done properly you'll be able to keep your forward momentum without any slowdown.
Now while this is your best movement option if there is no ink of your team's color on the ground already and there are no fellow inklings around either, it only works with certain main weapons. Rifle users along with Roller and Brush for example are incapable of it and as such are better off using alternative methods. The former is better off firing a charged shot to create a straight trail of ink and swimming through it in squid form. The latter two are better at creating ink paths for their teammates. The Roller being the most notable for this.
There are also speed perks to consider. One that increases your movement speed as a squid would give you little benefit when it came to splatter hopping as you do next to no actual swimming with it. It's all about discovering what movement options not only your weapon set offers, but what your teammates can offer each other as well. Which movement based perks offer the best synergy with my main weapon ink spreading style?

How do you switch back into inkling form? is it automatic or do you have to press something? i'm still not sure of the controls.

How do you switch back into inkling form? is it automatic or do you have to press something? i'm still not sure of the controls. I always assumed that you hold ZR to go into squid mode, and once you let go, you pop back to being a human. I never played, though, so I don't know. That just seems like the best, most intuitive way to do it.

If we can talk about another piece of adavnced tech, someone named nibroc got to play the demo at E3 and he had this to say about it.
"Some quick thoughts on the game as I played it.
The game plays best when working in tandem. Running off on your own sets you up for a quick death situations, whereas working with one or two teammates grants you a number of unique opportunities to rack up kills and gain paint coverage (at least as far as Turf War mode is concerned [Turf War was the only mode available at the E3 demo]).
One of the best ways to kill an opponent is spreading paint around their feet first, because skilled opponents will almost always try to juke you by going into squid mode. These jukes vary from Melee-like "wavedashes" in which the player holds the button to go into squid mode fully and travel a certain distance in that mode before returning to their feet. Otherwise, quickly tapping the squid button allows the player to rapidly jump in and out of squid mode while also traveling across the ground faster than a normal run (I jokingly called this "squidteching".)
Both of these options, and the further spectrum of options that become available by squiding around, are worth getting rid of. Therefore, your best option is to circle opponents with your paint. Remember, you move faster in your paint color and slower in their's. Having a teammate quickly spray down opponent territory helps slow opponent movement and sets up for quick kills. So always travel with a buddy or two.
Being able to transition from human to squid mode rapidly will separate good from great players. You'll have to learn how to effectively paint the ground to create offensive routes and escape paths depending on what you need. There's really no reason ever to squid outside of your own paint color since you move slower, so keep this in mind"
This "Squid-Teching" sounds super interesting and I can't wait to see just how much this tech can be utilized.
This is SquidTeching: (Pay close attention to the Enemy purple Inkling)

From what I understand, you are unable to attack while in squid form. This seems to limit the Splatterhop's usefulness doesn't it?

Not really; Changing from humanoid form to squid form, and vice versa, is rather quick. That is one reason why the strategy to move, shoot, and then squid into the ink is so useful for movement. However, like said above, it will depend on the weapon you are using.

I don't think this technique will be quite as powerful as wave dashing.

I don't think this technique will be quite as powerful as wave dashing. Sniping occurs in the form of a charge shot, meaning it will take some considerable time to charge a ranged shot. Wavedashing and this Squidhopping are similar yes, but they both have different uses, as one is in a 3d world while the other is in a 2d world. That being said, I totally see your point! For all we know it is just like you said. Everything is up in the air at the moment.

Seems as if this technique will be most useful with specific primary and subs. A default gun and ink grenade will give u a lot of use, letting u splatter things quick, throw out the grenade quick, and travel around, while im guessing most other guns and secondaries won't be able to pull this off? find an as effective use for it, unless all secondaries come out near instantly like the grenade..

I wonder if splatterhopping while on a wall is possible. I could only imagine how OP that would be.

Gravity will work against you, so, I doubt it. However, splatterhopping from ground to wall, back to ground, and then to the wall again could be a useful way of maintaining protection while still covering the ground and moving forward. Additionally, this could be used to get to higher areas.
